Town of Riverhead Presents ‘FINDING NEMO’ at the Wading River Beach
August 4, 2016
Riverhead, NY – Supervisor Sean Walter and the Riverhead Town Board are pleased to announce that the town’s Recreation Department will be offering ‘Movies at the Beach’ - a free special event for the entire community:
Finding Nemo – Movies on the Beach
Friday, August 12, 2016
8:30 p.m. (Dusk)
Wading River Beach
Sound & Creek Road, Wading River NY
The featured movie, Finding Nemo, is a Disney-Pixar animated action-comedy about Nemo, an adventurous young clownfish, who is unexpectedly taken from his Great Barrier Reef home to a dentist's office aquarium in Sydney, Australia. It's up to his overprotective, worrisome father, Marlin, and his friendly, but forgetful, regal blue tang fish, Dory, to bring Nemo home -- meeting vegetarian sharks, surfer dude turtles, hypnotic jellyfish, hungry seagulls and more!
This performance is open to all residents from the Town of Riverhead. The movie will be shown on a 14’x26’ outdoor screen and is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. (dusk). Parking restrictions in the town’s beach parking lot will be lifted for movie-goers.
“I am happy that we are able to offer this free special event on the west end of town in Wading River again this year,” stated Riverhead Supervisor Sean Walter. “Residents of all ages are welcome to come spend an evening under the stars on our beach to watch this family-friendly movie and to spend some quality time with their children, family and neighbors.”
Children under 18 years old should be accompanied by an adult. Those attending should consider bringing chairs or blankets to sit on along with some insect repellent. The Recreation Department will also hold a concession stand to purchase popcorn and refreshments. Residents are urged to try to arrive early enough to find a preferred location to view the film.

In case of inclement weather please call 727-5744 ext. 30 for updated information.
